BC PNP Draw: 33 Invitations for Rural/Remote Health Support — September 17, 2026

British Columbia issued a new Skills Immigration invitation round on September 17, 2026 under the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative. According to the official WelcomeBC Invitations to Apply page, 33 invitations were issued to candidates selected by points, with a minimum score of 60.

This was a targeted health-support round rather than a general BC PNP draw. The initiative is designed to help support health-care staffing needs in eligible rural and remote communities, so candidates should not treat the 60-point threshold as a province-wide BC PNP cut-off.

What happened in the September 17 draw

The most useful comparison is the previous round under the same initiative on July 23, 2026. That round issued 60 invitations at a minimum score of 50. The September round therefore had a higher threshold and a smaller invitation count. That may point to tighter selection in this specific initiative, but two rounds are not enough to establish a reliable long-term trend.

How this fits into recent BC PNP selection

B.C. has been using several distinct selection approaches in 2026. Recent Skills Immigration rounds have alternated among targeted care/build occupations, high-economic-impact selection, and the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative. Entrepreneur Immigration continues on a separate track with Base and Regional stream invitation rounds.

For example, on September 10 B.C. issued targeted invitations for childcare, health, veterinary care and construction occupations. On August 20 it used high-economic-impact criteria. Those thresholds should not be compared directly with the September 17 rural/remote health score because the selection factors and candidate groups are different.

What to watch next

If the recent sequence continues, another targeted Skills Immigration selection or an Entrepreneur Immigration round would be reasonable to watch for. However, B.C. does not guarantee a fixed draw schedule, and future high-economic-impact criteria, occupation targeting, wage requirements, scores and invitation volumes can change.
