Express Entry draw #440 at a glance

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada held Express Entry round #440 on September 3, 2026, targeting Physicians with Canadian Work Experience. IRCC issued 229 Invitations to Apply. The Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off was 198, and the tie-breaking rule was August 6, 2026 at 19:40:38 UTC.

Who this category targets

The 2026 physician category is for eligible Express Entry candidates who, within the previous three years, acquired at least one year of full-time Canadian work experience (or the equivalent in part-time work) in NOC 31100 Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine, NOC 31101 Specialists in surgery, or NOC 31102 General practitioners and family physicians. Candidates must also meet the requirements of an underlying Express Entry program.

How this compares with earlier physician rounds

This was the third physician-focused Express Entry round of 2026. The February 19 round issued 391 invitations at CRS 169, while the June 24 round issued 271 invitations at CRS 223. The September 3 round was smaller at 229 invitations and landed between those two prior physician cut-offs at CRS 198. These scores should be compared with other physician-category rounds, not with CEC, PNP or French-language rounds, because each selection group has different eligibility.

What to watch next

IRCC has recently moved through a rapid sequence of targeted selections, including PNP, CEC and now physicians. If that pattern continues, another program-specific or category-based round would be a reasonable possibility, but IRCC does not publish a fixed rotation. Draw timing, type, invitation volume and CRS cut-offs remain discretionary.
